Hello Friends :)
My name is Selin, and I go on adventures with my best friend, Tobi. We used to live in Istanbul, Turkey- I study at Bogazici University and he was an Erasmus student for two semesters. We travel together, and we decided we hate vacation. I mean, let's be honest, who wants so much discomfort in their life when one could just stay in the same place seeing the same people do the same things and eat the same food forever? In all seriousness, the idea behind "We Hate Vacation" began on our trip through the Balkans. We missed our flight to Sarajevo from Istanbul, which started our Spring Break off on the wrong side of the bed- quite literally, we woke up a few minutes before the plane was to take off. But we prevailed! By taking buses through the Balkans starting with a 13 hour ride to Skopje, we were able to make it to Sarajevo in enough time to catch our return flight, and learn to enjoy our mistakes along the way. While in Macedonia, we started to take grumpy selfies to show everyone how much we truly "hate" vacation- as a little rebellion against the ideal vacation/holiday photos that litter social media during spring break. And here we are, in India, still hating vacation. And blogging about it!!1!111
I have a tendency of being an awful blogger so please have patience with me, as I sometimes will not post, will make awful jokes, and maybe ramble on about something you don't find very important, but do realize: This is a journey for me as well as you, and as the expert on everything, it's my duty to enlighten you. Just laugh at me and that's all.
